Pigeons Homing, Twenty Minute Sketch

A pigeon has built her nest in my house, and its so lovely to see her every time I go out. I did this sketch last night with a black dot pen, then I used a black sketch-pen to create the blackness of nighttime. The soft glow of the bulb was done using dry pastel.

I did it in twenty minutes, which explains the rather crude strokes. I'm planning to make a more detailed and delicate watercolor based on this sketch sometime soon.

Miniature doodle note-books and craft paper

I made these doodle sketch books and note papers last weekend. The last post was about the mess that led to these creations. It all started with a desire to experiment with the plastic wrap and salt techniques. I had some good quality architect paper which I used. The papers looked so bright that I was inspired to turn them into doodle note-books.

For this one, I used animal doodles for the front and back cover.

A small dialogue box.

The other one is a more elegant, fantasy lemon tree ...

I still have a lot of these patterned paper left. I'm stacking it for future use :D
Paper craft is so much fun, even though it means a looong clean-up session afterwards.

I was about the throw the plastic bag I had used, when my husband said it looked like a body bag. And he took a series of body bag photographs :D

WOYWW 168: A very messy room

Sometimes, when i'm in a very creative mood, I leave all my art supplies out. This is how my room looks at such times :)

I've been working on my art journal, making some craft paper, and tiny doodle note-copies. Haven't photographed them in detail yet. Here's a peek.

On a working weekend ...

There's nothing quite as upsetting as a working weekend. However, I've made up for it by painting the lovely flowers in my vase today. I was doing it for the twenty minute challenge, however it took me about half an hour to get it done!

And I filled in a new page for the sketchbook challenge 2012. I wanted to do something spontaneous and reflective of my mood (lounging at home).

And I bought this lovely candle holder, in-between my grocery shopping!
